Troubadour  expresses  the  romantic, free  spirited  lifestyle  of  the  poet. This masterfully  crafted  piece  exemplifies Yi-Ping's  fine  art.  As  with all her paintings, a deeper meaning permeates the ‘Troubadour’ beyond its initial viewing.

This  ‘Angel’  sits  at  the entranceway to an abandoned  weathered  boxcar that is so full of  character.  The  train  car  takes  on  an ambiance  of  a past  that seems to have  a story all its own to tell. The train is symbolic of time and a path taken in life.

As in her other paintings, the violin which is Yi-Ping's  favorite  instrument,  serves as  a ‘voice’ to convey a message. Yi-Ping explains it this way: ‘This poetic  'Angel'  sings a song on her violin that tells us of this train's travels. We are all passengers –just like her– on  our journey through this life’
